How to Navigate through Biased vs Unbiased opinions

Hands up who’s been getting flooded with opinions from all directions about how they should plan their wedding & what they should or should not do?! It’s exhausting, right?

Well, let The Wedding Suite help you understand the difference between someone’s projection & someone’s support, and how to navigate through conversations with fall-out.

-Biased opinion example is Aunt Mary insisting on a traditional ceremony because “that’s how it’s always been done”. This is Aunt Mary’s personal preference & unfortunately she’s not bothered at all if you want an outdoor woodland humanist ceremony as it’s not tradition.

+Unbiased opinion example is Jean, your ever helpful wedding support coach, advising on the best time of year for an outdoor ceremony & discussing the logistics. Jean has zero personal attachment to the style of ceremony you want but does want you to have all the facts & understanding involved in your choice.

-Aunt Mary can have you feeling pressured to conform to the expectations of others which can lead to your wedding vision getting diluted and creating emotional strain with loved ones.

+️Jean is offering professional guidance, giving you a clear picture & supporting your individual preferences, keeping your vision authentic & true to you.

This can be a really tricky part of wedding planning. We’re sure Aunt Mary means no harm but that doesn’t change the fact she is causing emotional strain.

Finding your confidence will really come into play here!

1. Politely listen but filter the advice. You won’t need it all.

2. Set boundaries. Remind others it’s ultimately your decision.

3. Seek professional support. Invest in a wedding coach or planner for unbiased advice.

4. Stay true to your vision. Have your vision board at hand & trust your instincts.

TWS are here to support you in making confident, informed decisions that align with your dream wedding day
